Castle Garden and Huguenot Fountain

The Castle was built between 1700 and 1704 according to plans by Antonio della Porta and completed by Gottfried von Gedeler after della Porta’s death. Christian Ernst, Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, gave it as a wedding present in 1703 to his third wife Elisabeth Sophie, 30 years his younger and stepsister to the first Prussian King, Frederick I.
